Project Pana Story Map showing characters, locations and events connected in one story

Stop searching for that one detail.

Your story lives in scattered documents, notebooks and folders. A character's eye color is in one file, the city's history in another, and the order of events only in your head.

You lose writing time hunting for details, and small contradictions slip into your plot.

Project Pana brings it all into one workspace built around how stories actually work: people, places and events, connected to each other.

A long, unorganized story document full of scattered notes

Organize

Every character, location, event and note gets its own page, with the details that matter.

Connect

Link characters to places and events, define relationships, and @mention anything as you write.

See the big picture

Follow your plot on a timeline and see how everything connects on the Story Map.

Everything your story needs, in one place.

Each part of your world has its own space, with the details that matter.

Character profiles with roles and statuses in Project Pana

Characters

Detailed profiles with 20+ fields: appearance, personality, backstory, motivations, goals, strengths, weaknesses and arc. Add an avatar, assign roles and statuses, and define relationships like "Mentor / Student" that show up on both characters.

Location cards with cover photos and linked story elements

Locations

Describe each place's atmosphere, history and rules. Build a photo gallery with a featured cover image, and see which characters and events are tied to it.

Story timeline with events linked to characters and locations

Timeline

Lay out your plot as a visual timeline. Drag and drop to reorder events, use your own date format ("Day 1, 1843"), and color-code them with tags. Filter by character or location to follow a single thread.

Story Map with connected characters, locations and events

Story Map

A visual canvas of your whole story. Drag characters, locations and events around, see their connections drawn automatically with relationship labels, and add sticky notes. Available on desktop.

Notes

Capture ideas, dialogue and loose threads. Sort by category, color-code, tag, and pin what matters most.

Tags

Group events and notes by theme, arc or anything you like. Tag colors carry through to your timeline.

Write freely. Mention anything.

Type @ in any description and pick a character, location or event. It becomes a colored chip right in your text, and one click takes you to its page. Your notes stop being walls of text and become a map you can move through.

At dawn, @Elara left @Ravenhold to find the stolen map, three days before @The Siege of Emberfall.

Made to fit how you write.

Multiple projects

Novels, screenplays, short stories, comics, podcasts, and worldbuilding for tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons. Keep each project separate, with as many as you need.

Your own fields

Add custom fields to characters, locations and events, and define your own statuses, roles and project types.

Private by default

Your projects are visible only to you.

Light and dark mode

Write in the theme that suits you.

Why I built Project Pana

It started in my first year of university, watching series where every small detail turned out to matter. I was fascinated by how carefully those worlds were built, and I began building a tool that could hold a story like that.

Life got busy and the idea went on a shelf. Years later, a close friend who's like a sister to me opened up about her writing, and it gave me the push to finish what I started. I'm glad it did.

Project Pana is built for writers like her, and like you. I hope it helps your story come together.
